Sean worked much of his life in his family’s coast side pub and brings a warm European sensibility to Johnston’s Saltbox. He loves the sense of community created by sharing a meal together. He's impressed daily by the quality and variety of product grown right here in the Bay Area. Johnston’s Saltbox is the culmination of those two parts: local people, local product.

Jennifer has spent 18 years cooking with great chefs & mentors: Jeremiah Tower, Bradley Ogden, Robert Cubberly and Pierre Koffmann.
After years of partnering with local farmers, ranchers, and fishermen- witnessing them put so much love and care into their craft, Jennifer sees a Chef’s role as simple- to source great local product and cook it with care. She’s excited to finally bring these experiences home to San Carlos.
The rooftop kitchen garden is a very tangible way to demonstrate our commitment to quality local ingredients. It's coincidentally also a great place for the three young Johnston daughters to toil in the soil.
